明治神宮 (Meiji Sanctuary), Shinjuku, Japan
The Meiji Sanctuary has been built for the memory of the Meiji emperor, who has given his name to the history period of Japan history. It has symbolized the beginning of Japanese modernization and opening to the rest of the world. It is located right on the middle of the imperial park, not even 2km far from the business center of Tokyo, Shinjuku. If a 250m high tower didn’t appear above the trees sometimes, you could feel like being in the countryside.
