Forward to the 2016 season

I had announced racing the 2016 season together with the French Japanese Neilpryde – Sanshin Subaru Cycling Team in late 2015. Since then, I concentrated on sudies and journeys, which kept me busy for most of the winter. After having stopped my 2015 season in early July, after the professionnal race Tour de Sibiu (1-5 of july 2015), I did not take part to any more elite race for as much as 8 months. It will be the case in a few days : as I had better sensations than expected, I will take the start as soon as this week-end of the second round of the Japan Pro Tour competition, at Ibukiyama, on sunday 10th !

Back to racing : april 10th, first race on the slope of Ibukiyama

As mentioned before, my come back to racing will be the second round of the Japan Pro Tour, which is a pretty similar level and organisation as the French Cup, as long as pro teams race all together with elite teams in a 14 rounds calendar, mixing up very different race patterns. The first round has taken place in Utsunomiya, as a criterium tournament and at its end, my team Neilpryde – Nanshin Subaru occupies the 6th place of overall ranking. The team goal will so to confirm this position, by scoring some points on this tough round not really adapted to our squad qualities, because it is a straight uphill race of no more than 12km. Nevertheless, my personal goal will rather be testing my current physical level and getting to understand more about my opponents, and no doubts that it is the perfect terrain for such a purpose.

Following of the calendar : a busy month in April

The third round will take place pretty soon after then because it will be a two days competition on the following week-end (16-17), in Shirahama, Wakayama prefecture, with a team time trial and a criterium. Same for the following week, because it will already be the fourth round in Gunma, with two one-day races (23-24). This one is meant to be my first goal of the season. The last week-end of the month will probably busy as well beause we plan to race two races of the AACA challenge around Nagoya. It will be a rather busy month, so I now concentrate on April, before a lighter month of May, with no JPT round. Racing abroad ? Another journey ? Different projects could take shape, so April is for now the main matter.

A team, a goal : accessing continental level up to 2017

The Neilpryde – Nanshin Subaru team exists since 2006, and has this year in its squad a group of 6 French and 3 Japanese riders. Last week, I met the French riders based in Iida, a (big) countryside city 250km far from Tokyo. Team will be presented the day after the race, on Monday, April 11th. I incite you to follow the team news on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Everyone, riders and staff members, are working all together in order to access continental level in 2017, and to become then the first French continental team based abroad. For this purpose, we have to show team colors and get good results on the Japanese and international calendar !
